Celebrating Neutrinos: Colloquium in honor of prof. S. Bilenky at occasion of his 90th birthday
On Wednesday, 23rd of May 2018, the "Celebrating Neutrinos" Colloquium will take place in honor of prof. S. Bilenky's 90th birthday.
Professor Bilenky is considered to be one of the most important neutrino scientists of today's science. He graduated from MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) in 1952 and in the same year started working in JINR (Joint Institute for Nuclear Research). He worked in many different research groups, among the most prominent results of these are: Polarization effects in particle collisions, Neutral current effects, Physics of massive and mixed neutrinos. Together with B. Pontecorvo he developed the general theory of neutrino mixing and neutrino oscillations.
The colloquium is hosted by IEAP and will start on Wednesday at 13:00 in Hrzánský palác, where presentations by different scientists will be performed.
